R-Ranch in the Mountains

When I made the decision to live full time in the RV I had to ask, “Where should I park it?” I had been living stationary in the class A RV for almost 2 years in Florida. Now that I will be traveling for my role with Family Partners, it was time to consider somewhere else. Florida, while beautiful, gets very hot. This is difficult when living in an RV. The AC is always running which quickly depletes the batteries. It can also feel quite claustrophobic when the windows are closed, and AC is running constantly. RVs are not insulated as well as a house and they are more difficult to cool. Second, Florida is extremely expensive to be an RVer. Florida is a popular destination, especially in the winter, and campgrounds can charge a hefty fee. Finally, SW Florida is not a convenient place to travel out of . It takes 5-6 hours just to get out of the state. I had been searching for a cooler, more centrally located and less expensive option to use as a base when not traveling. Being in the mountains is my favorite place to be, so naturally that’s where I looked. I stumbled upon a video recommendation from another RV for the R-Ranch in the Mountains.

Nestled in the scenic North Georgia mountains and just a few miles from downtown Dahlonega Georgia, R-Ranch in the Mountains was the perfect place. The R-Ranch has over 800 acres of private property nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest consisting of campsites, cabins, trails, stables, a swimming pool, lakes and miles of wide-open space. It is located about 15 minutes from Dahlonega and 30 minutes from Helen Georgia, an eclectic German town. I have been escaping to the North Georgia mountains whenever I could get away, both by myself and with the kids. The area is beautiful. It does get cold and occasionally will snow. There are 8 wineries and over 120 waterfalls near the quaint town of Dahlonega and the R-Ranch. I’m looking forward to spending more time outside, trail rides through the forest (yes, I’m going to learn to ride a horse), changing seasons and meeting new people. There are also cabins available when friends and family decide to visit. Y’all come visit sometime!
