Changing Lives in Kenya

The Family Partners Team traveled to Africa in April to visit the communities that we serve in Kenya.  I was not able to travel with the team this time but will be visiting soon.  I’m excited to share the incredible journey they embarked on, including the opportunity to share written prayers from individuals and families in the US.

Historic rain has been covering Kenya since October, making the dirt roads to the communities impassable at times. Because of the rain, the field visits were limited, but they were able to reach the village of Oliogeruno, where they spent time with mothers and their children.

The mothers greeted them with a beautiful song and continued singing as they gathered in a circle outside their local church building. Eunice, who works closely with the families through AfricaHope and Family Partners, introduced our team and praised the mothers for using the Direct Give to help their families, for sending their children to school, and encouraged them to continue to be faithful to God and with the blessings He has given them.

Next, she invited Pastor Tom, the lead church planter from AfricaHope, and Morgan, the Director of Operations for Family Partners, to pray the written prayers from the families in the United States who partner with these families in Kenya.

It was a beautiful time of connection as they prayed these blessings in two different languages, demonstrating that our shared faith runs deeper than any cultural or language differences.

The Maasai mothers were grateful and were visibly moved, knowing that those prayers are being prayed over their families regularly. Through the unwavering support of individuals and families in the US, hearts are being uplifted and spirits are renewed.
